Chuwi has launched their first ever laptop, Chuwi Lapbook which is a Windows 10 laptop. It is a little different from the Jumper EZbook 2 ultra laptop that I have already reviewed. The laptop comes in a single white color and it is one of the best-looking budget laptops. It has a very decent screen size of 15.6″ whereas Jumper EZbook 2 has a screen size of 14″. This budget laptop comes with a price tag of $185.99 available on gearbest. So in this Chuwi Lapbook review, I’d be telling you about its specifications and my first Impressions.

Build & Design
Now coming to the build quality of Chuwi Lapbook, this Windows 10 laptop has one of the best design and build for a budget laptop/lapbook. The super white color looks pretty interesting. The screen size is a pretty big one as it has a 15.6″ screen size. Normally such a size will costs you more money but Chuwi Lapbook comes at a surprise price of $185.99. from gearbest.
On the left-hand side, there is a mini HDMI output port along with a USB port and charging slot with a status LED. And on the right side, there is a micro SD card slot along with 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB 2.0 port. The 15.6″ screen has a matte coating that really looks amazing and durable than all those glossy displays. On the front, there is a front 2.0 MP camera. It has a pretty good keyboard with good spaces in between the buttons. This laptop weighs around 1.86 Kg which is decent for a 15.6″ laptop, it is quite light actually.
The bezels are not actually too large like the Jumper EZbook, the small bezel looks classy. The typing experience is quite OK as it is a budget laptop, you can’t except the typing experience to be excellent. Now coming to the touch pad, it is very nice and large that really works well, quite a decent touchpad.
The speakers are present on the bottom of this lapbook, this is disturbing. I personally didn’t like the position of the speakers as if you will use it on your lap then the sound quality may get distorted. Now let’s move forward in this Chuwi Lapbook review and discuss more of its features.
Display & Connectivity
As I have already told you that the Chuwi Lapbook has 15.6″ display screen size, quite a decent screen size for a laptop with the PPI of 141. Now with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and 16:9 display ratio it gives a pretty good output display quality. Many of you might find the display to be dull but it is quite good and workable in indoors.
Because of its anti-glare screen, it gives good horizontal viewing angles. The vertical viewing angles are not so good as it does not have an IPS display. As it has a matte coating on its display, you will not be disturbed with the annoying reflections on the screen.
I really like its screen as it has a lot less bezel and moreover, the matte coating on the display make it more user-friendly and durable. The display quality is not the best in the range as you will start to notice the pixels when you look close at the screen.
Connectivity is something not everyone talks about. But according to me, it is a very crucial point to discuss while reviewing a gadget. It has a good connectivity as it has –
- 2 USB slots (1 x 3.0 & 1 x 2.0)
- Micro SD Card Slot (support upto 128 GB)
- 3.5 mm Headphone Jack
- Micro HDMI slot
- Bluetooth 4.0
Hardware & Performance
Chuwi Lapbook is powered with Intel Atom Z8300 chipset which is not so fast, maybe they have revised the CPU to Intel Atom Z8350 to improve the performance. 4GB of RAM (DDR3L) running at only 1066 MHz that should give theoritically low performance. But after testing, the performance and speed was actually pretty good.
Sadly, you can not insert an extra RAM as it has only one RAM slot. So you have to be satisfied with 4 GB of RAM, I think it is decent for a $185 laptop. It has 64 GB of ROM out of which around 43-45 GB is user available. You can also increase its storage to 128 GB using a Micro SD card.
Coming to the camera of the Chuwi Lapbook, the front camera is 2.0 MP that takes pretty good quality images. But when it comes to record a video, it can only shoot 480p videos. Otherwise the camera is fine. With 10000 mAh battery, it can give a backup of around 6-8 hours which is decent. Now moving forward in this Chuwi Lapbook review.
Inside the package you will find the Chuwi Lapbook itself along with power adapter and a user manual. Now coming the gaming performance of this Lapbook, the gaming experience is not so good as it tends to hit a temperature of 80+ degrees while gaming. So I wont recommend this lapbook to play excessive games. For moderate usage it is fine to go with it.
Chuwi Lapbook Review – Final Verdict
Chuwi Lapbook Windows 10 laptop is priced at $185.99 on Gearbest at the time of writing this post. The build of Chuwi Lapbook is pretty good and it has a good screen size of 15.6″. The display quality is not so nice that lacks good vieing angles and not so good PPI. The battery backup is pretty nice as it will give you a battery backup of around 6-8 hours easily. If you want a laptop for moderate use, you can go with Chuwi Lapbook blindly. I won’t recommend this lapbook for gaming as it heats alot while gaming. The sound quality is also poor as the speakers are present on the bottom of this lapbook. Otherwise it is a decent low budget laptop to go for. That was all in this Chuwi Lapbook Review, thank you.
