How to fix Windows update error 0x80070422

A friend of mine was having some problem with his Windows PC. He said he can’t run the update tool in his Windows 10 PC. An error was constantly coming whenever he was trying to update his Windows, the error was- Windows update error 0x80070422. If you are also receiving the same error whenever you try to update your PC, then here is the full proof solution for the same. You just have to follow these simple steps in order to push back the error. So let’s get started.

Windows Update error 0x80070422 – FIX

If you are also getting the Windows update error 0x80070422 when you try to update your Windows PC, then you might need to change the Windows update services settings. To do so, you need to open the services tab in your Windows PC and there you can alter the Windows update service settings. Follow this easy tutorial to do the same.

1. Open Run Command Window-

Open the Run Command Window by pressing “Windows Key + R“.

2. Type the following command and hit enter-

Type “services.msc” in the Run Command Window and hit enter, a new Windows services window will open. Make sure you are using an administrator account while altering the update settings.

3. Change the Windows update properties-

Scroll down to and search for “Windows update“, right click on it and click on properties. In the general tab, look for start up type- make sure that Automatic is selected, if not select Automatic and exit the screen.

4. Restart your PC

After altering the Windows Services settings, restart your PC and run the update tool again. You will see the Windows update error 0x80070422 will no longer be there and now you can update your Windows PC.
