There might be some problem installing that update or your smartphone have turned off during the installation process of the update due to low battery. Things didn’t end well while rooting?

Were you trying to root your Android smartphone? Well, a little homework is always necessary to do anything new. But don’t worry the same thing happened to me when Samsung galaxy was my daily driver. I was trying to root it and maybe I did something wrong and my device was stuck in boot loop. The Samsung galaxy smart phone won’t turn on and whenever I tried to do so, it was stuck in recovery mode. I was so frustrated that I tried many things to fix this issue. I will also tell you the pre-requisite things that are required before you try to do such things with your smartphone. People learn from mistakes, so I will tell you all the things that you should follow to avoid any mistake like I did.

3rd party defective app might be an issue

If you have installed some 3rd party app from untrusted store or website then it might be the one causing the problem. Try not to install apps from the untrusted websites and from unknown sources. Always install apps from Google Play Store that will reduce the risk of any harmful codes that can damage your phone’s software. So remember to uncheck the option “Install from unknown sources” in settings to be on the safe side.

How to fix your smartphone if it is stuck at Samsung logo

If your smartphone is stuck at Samsung logo then there are a couple of solutions to fix the issue. Follow the given solutions in the order to fix this issue.

Wipe Cache Partition

Now the very first thing you need to try is to wipe cache files that might be the reason of this issue. To wipe the cache files, you’ll need to boot your smartphone into recovery mode by pressing a combination of keys which may be different for different devices. But in general, recovery mode can be accessed by pressing a combination of “Volume up button + Home Screen Button/Power Button” for a few seconds.

After booting into recovery mode, you can navigate using volume rocker buttons and select using the power button. So now navigate to “wipe cache partition” option using volume buttons and then press the Power button to select the option. Now on the next screen, you’ll be asked to confirm your choice. Navigate to “Yes” and press power button again. Wait for a few seconds and once the process completes, navigate to the “back” option and then select “reboot system now” to reboot your smartphone. Hopefully, your smartphone will turn on and that problem will no longer be there.

But even after this, if your smartphone is still stuck at Samsung logo or your Android phone wont turn on then you might have to do a “factory reset”. Follow the second solution to reset your Android smartphone to factory settings.

wipe data/factory reset

Now if wiping cache partition does not do any good then you might have to do a factory reset. Factory reset means your phone will be reset to the back to the initial state. It will reset all your settings and will clear all your device’s files and media. This will help in removing every 3rd party applications and other files that have been downloaded or installed in your device. If any app is causing the problem then doing a factory reset will surely help you.

If you wish to save the data of your device then turn your smartphone and connect it to your laptop. If your laptop is able to read your smartphone presence then open it and copy all the files and save to any of your Windows drives. If your laptop is not able to read your smartphone, then sadly you will loose all of your data.

Now to perform a factory reset, you need to boot again into the recovery mode. Follow the same process describe above to boot your smartphone into recovery mode. After booting into recovery mode follow the given steps.

  • Navigate to “wipe data/factory reset”
  • Press power button to select it
  • On the next screen confirm your choice with the help of the power button and wait a few seconds
  • Now go back and select “reboot system now”

Now your phone should be working without any problem and you should be able to use your smartphone normally by now. If your device is still not working and still stuck on Samsung logo then you must have done something wrong with it. Maybe you were trying to root it or installing some custom recovery. Now to solve this issue follow the next solution. It will surely bring back your smartphone’s life.

Flashing Stock Recovery to bring back your phone’s life

If you were trying to do some experiments on your phone like rooting it or flashing some custom recovery like CWM recovery or installing TWRP recovery then there is a high chance that the problem is caused because of it. The same happened to me when I was trying to root my Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro. Your smartphone might have soft bricked and it is very simple to unbrick it, you’ll need to flash the stock recovery file on your phone. I have already posted a separate tutorial to unbrick Samsung Android phone.

phone does not turn on

Flashing some custom files like custom recovery or custom ROM may have harmful codes that can brick your smartphone. So it is advisable that you must download such files only from trusted websites like XDA.

I will tell you how to install stock recovery file on your Samsung smartphone. If you have some other smartphone then you can flash the stock recovery via adb. I have already prepared a tutorial for that, you can read here “How to install stock recovery via adb“. Just download and flash the stock recovery instead of that custom recovery.

Now coming back to the Samsung devices. To flash anything on a Samsung device, you need to download a software specially designed for Samsung android phones – Odin. Don’t use Odin on any other device expect Samsung Android. So just follow this tutorial if your Samsung Galaxy won’t start or stuck at logo.

  • The very first you need to do is download the Odin software on your computer/laptop. Remember to download the latest possible Odin version and extract it.
  • Now download the latest Samsung USB drivers on your PC.
  • Install both the Odin and USB drivers on your PC.
  • Download the stock recovery file for your Samsung smartphone, must have extension (.tar)
  • Now boot your Android smartphone into the download mode. To do so keep pressing the combination of  “Volume down button + Power button + Home Screen button” for a few seconds nad you’ll be booted into the download mode.
  • Your device will boot into download mode, press volume Plus button to continue.
  • Now open Odin as an Administrator and connect your smartphone with your PC. As soon as you connect your device to your PC, Odin will detect it.
  • Now click on “AP”, navigate and select the stock recovery (.tar) file that you have downloaded earlier.
  • Now click on “Start” and wait for the flashing process to complete.
  • Your device will be rebooted automatically and the problem will no longer be there.

This is the best and smallest solution that will fix the problem – Samsung Galaxy smart phone wont turn on or stuck at logo. Remember to flash correct stock recovery file. The recovery file that I have provided will work on most of the Samsung Android devices if not, then you have to search and download the stock recovery file for your Samsung smartphone.

P.S. Using this method to fix this problem when your Samsung Smart Phone wont turn on or stuck at Samsung logo will not wipe any data from your device. So you can try this method to solve this problem without worrying about anything.

Flashing stock Firmware – 100% positive Solution

If none of the above solution helped you then you have to try the last thing, flashing the stock firmware. Usually flashing the stock recovery will help but if you are doing something wrong or unable to find the correct stock recovery file then you might not be able to fix your device. The last thing you can do to fix Samsung Galaxy stuck at Samsung logo is to flash the official stock firmware. This will remove any problem that you are facing with your device. If you ask me the success rate of this solution, my answer will remain 100%.

Important Note-

If you want to root your Android smartphone or flash anything, remember to do the following things. These are pre-requisite and will really help you. If you don’t follow these pre-requisite steps then you might face many problems.

  • Always remember to enable USB Debugging before doing any such thing. I think most of you must already know how to enable it. Those who don’t know, go to “about phone” and tap on build number 7 times to enable developer mode. Now go back and select “Developer Options”. Navigate to USB Debugging and enable it.
  • Always backup your data and important files. Use any good app to backup your contacts, data, and everything. If things go wrong then you won’t have to worry as you have your data already with you.
  • Install USB drivers for your device on your PC if you are doing any work that includes using your PC.

Fact: Most common reason of your device getting soft bricked is not enabling USB Debugging.

What if your Samsung Galaxy Smart Phone wont turn on?

Now what if your Samsung Galaxy smart phone wont turn on? Is there any particular reason behind it? You may or may not have to worry about this problem as there can be several reasons behind that. We’ll look into the reasons and talk about the solution to solve such problems. If you Samsung Galaxy won’t turn at all, or stuck at some screen then you may need to try some methods in order to solve the problem. The problem may be caused if you were trying to root it or trying to install 3rd party recovery in your phone or it may happen out of nowhere. Let’s see all the possible fixes to solve this problem.

Try Charging your Device

If your smartphone is not booting up at all, nothing shows up but the blank black screen. Then there is a possibility that the battery of your device is dead. You may need to connect a charger into your device for about 30-60minutes and then try restarting your smartphone. As there is a strong possibility that your device’s battery may be exhausted. If your device boots up and start working perfectly again then there was no problem at all. If the problem still persists, then you may follow the other steps given below.

stuck at boot loop or logo

Use other Charger or Switch the battery of your device

In many cases, the charger is faulty. Maybe it is not working fine as it should so the best thing you can do is to use some different charger and charge the phone for 1 hour straight. After an hour, try rebooting your device. If luck favours you, your device will reboot to normal home screen. If it still not working then there must be some serious problem with your device. There can be two cases,

  • Your device is hard bricked (Most possible case)
  • Battery has been damaged (Rare case)

What is a bricked (hard brick, soft brick) Smartphone?

Let me tell you straight forward, there is nothing like soft brick and hard brick smartphone. If your phone is bricked that means its completely dead. But to make things clear people use a word soft brick when there device does not boot into home screen. Whether stuck at Samsung logo or stuck in boot loop (booting into recovery mode every time) its said to be soft bricked. A hard brick device on the other hand is in a state where it does not turn at all. I have already provided solution for fixing the soft brick device.

What can you do in order to fix a hard brick Smartphone?

If your device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, then you may try a deep flash cable and install stock firmware to bring back your phone’s life. My secondary android phone, Lenovo Zuk Z2 once got hard bricked as I was trying to install a custom ROM. I created a deep flash cable and fixed the phone. If you are also facing a similar issue and your phone is not turning on at all then you can try this method, install qpst firmware by using deep flash cable only if your device has a Snapdragon chipset.

Now the question is how to fix a hard brick smartphone running on a Snapdragon chipset? Well, this is a very rare problem so if you are really facing this issue then I’ll post the tutorial and a video describing how to fix the issue. You can email to notify me.For other smartphone users, you should go to the nearest service centre to consult them for the best option.
