Here’s a good news for Xiaomi Mi4i users, the device has just got a new OTA update. The previous MIUI version was 188.8.131.52 (LXIMICK) and now it will become 184.108.40.206 (LXIMIDA) after installing the OTA update. Mi4i new update has been Globally released and is stable so you can just install it from the system update option that you’ll find in the settings. Now in this post I’ll tell you all the changes after the update.
How to get Mi4i new update
The update was already out for Chinese users but many of us were waiting for the Global release. Now the Mi4i new update has been released Globally and is stable, though you won’t find much changes in the system log.
As it’s an OTA update, so you have to do nothing but open the settings and scroll down to the bottom and open the About phone section. In the About phone section, click on the System updates and there you can update the MIUI version to 220.127.116.11.
What’s New in the OTA
You won’t find much changes in the new update as there are only some changes in the update that you will notice. Now let’s see what’s new in this ROM.
1. Animated Effects of Home Screen Icons
The very first thing that you’ll notice after the update is the Animated Effects of the Home Screen Icons. The new animation effects of the Icon after the unlocking of the screen is better than the previous animations. The UI was a bit laggy in the previous version but you won’t find this problem after the update. Even the third party apps also opens with these new animations, so it would be great to install the update. You’ll also notice a change in the animations when you open the home screen icons. The effects are superb as compared to the previous animations.
2. Lock Screen Wallpaper
Now you’ll see a small button on the top right corner of your screen after the update. Click on the button and wait for it to load, now you can change your lock screen wallpaper by just swiping the screen to left. It’s a great feature as now you can also directly share the wallpaper from the lock screen.
3. Changes in the File Explorer
There are again some changes in the File Explorer app, now you’ll be asked to confirm if you want to make a folder private.
4. Changes in the Music Player
Many of the users were complaining after the last update that the Music Player would no longer be remain active in the Memory. Now this problem has been solved and you can access the Music Player from the notification tray. As before it usually opens the Music Player app but now you can directly play the songs from the Notification tray only.
Now after closing the Music Player app, a notification occurs at Notification tray to prevent the Music Player from getting killed.
These are the big four changes that I noticed. This is just a temporary review after using the phone for some minutes after the update. I’ll edit the post accordingly and the more changes in the phone (if any) after the update will be added here.
